OPENING HOURS:    

                          (TIME) 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on all working days.

OBJECTIVES:     

                            The Margherita College Library was established to cater the needs of the students, teachers and employees of the college, besides the Distance Education students, Research Scholars and the local people. It not only helps in supporting the classroom instructional programmes of the college, but also unfolds the horizon of knowledge in regard to the different educational programmes carried out by the college.
                           Our mission is to set high standards of excellence in the preservation of knowledge and serve as an effective instrument of development and change for the sub-division of Margherita and the frontier areas of Assam and Aurnachal Pradesh by passing on faithfully and comprehensively the cultural, socio-anthropological, scientific and technological experience of marking accumulated over the past years thereby ensuring the continuity and advancement of human civilization.

 

READING ROOM:

The Library provided separate and well-equipped reading room for students as well as professors. The total seating capacity is 110 persons.

INTERNET SERVICE:

Internet is open for all the students.

REPROGRAPHIC FACILITIES:

The Library is providing photocopy service at the lowest rate which is @Rs.1 per copy.

OPEN ACCESS SYSTEM:

The library is open for all the readers irrespective of arts, science and commerce students, teachers, ministerial stuff etc. Besides, the distance education students and KKHSOU students also use the library. Every reader can enter the library stock area and browse their required books.

CIRCULATION SYSTEM:

The library opted the brownie system of circulation. In this system each category of reader gets the library cards and may issue/return books as per and when required.

BOOK BANK FACILITIES:

This facility is for poor and meritorious students. This service is additional to normal library card.

CAREER GUIDE:

A large number of reference books are available for students to appear in competitive exams.

LIBRARY FEE STRUCTURE:

Library fees Rs. 150/- and caution money Rs. 100/- from all college students are collected at the time of admission.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE:- (Advisory Committee)

There is a library committee consisting of member from each stream viz- arts, science & Commerce. The principal is the chairman and librarian is the member secretary. The vice principal is also the member of the committee. A few senior teachers are the special invitees.
The committee suggest and guids the librarian and the library stuff to smooth run of the day to day activities and development policy formulation, book procurement etc. of the library.
